<div class="comment more">  </dWe are a group of breast cancer survivors who participate in dragon boat racing and are an example of what people can accomplish after breast cancer.  We also work to raise breast cancer awareness through promtion of proactive breast health and breast examination, and the benefits of regular physical activity for the prevention and recovery from breast cancer.  We are essentially a large "support group"  offering one another and our families support in times of need, and, in times of celebration!

At our booth you will find a simple to follow at home practice as well as receive information and guidance towards what form of yoga practice is best for you. Yoga for cancer patients and survivors is a holistic approach to assisting you on your journey.

What is a PICC line cuff? It’s a sleeve that can be used to cover the chemotherapy PICC line.

Find Darren at the Ohana Yoga & Wellness Booth - Myofascial Release Therapy and the Cancer Patient Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) can help restore motion and relieve pain. There are a variety of conditions which can result in inflammation, tightening and swelling. These include surgical procedures, inflammatory responses, and trauma. Myofascial Release Therapy has become a popular treatment in helping people dealing with cancer with relief from pain associated with conventional treatments. Some doctors including oncologists are recommending this type of therapy to help relieve the pain and increase mobility.

Near North Palliative Care Network. NNPCN is the Volunteer Visiting Hospice of Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts, funded by the NE LHIN and HPCO Accredited. The organization provides Volunteer Palliative Care services to palliative clients, respite services to caregivers, and grief support services to the community. Grief support includes anticipatory grief to complex grief, individual or group sessions. All services are free of charge to the client. NNPCN Services are relevant in supporting people before, during and after the cancer process. We provide you and your loved ones the central psychosocial support needed during the process. We are the Visiting Hospice of our area and go where our client is. Our main goal is to enhance the quality of life and support our Clients and Volunteers unconditionally, and free og charge. Come chat with us about how to become involved with NNPCN as a Volunteer or Client. Know more about the Palliative Care and Grief services we provide to the whole community of Nipissing and East Parry Sound. We give 140 hours of online and face-to-face training, completely free of charge, to our Volunteers. We also provide ongoing psychosocial support and investment in the quality of life of our Volunteers and Clients, such as our Adult Day Program. NNPCN Adult Day Program offers 2 welness activities, completely free of charge, Monday to Friday, such as Gentle Yoga, Meditation, Origami, Music, Movie and Popcorn, and more. Training and Services provided by NNPCN are open to all community members.

Knitted Knockers North Bay is a part of Knitted Knockers Canada. We supply FREE knitted/crochet breast prosthesis for breast cancer survivors. They are made by volunteers and are soft, comfortable handcrafted breast forms and can be worn in most regular bras. They are soft, beautiful, colourful, light and FREE to anyone who request them. Mindfulness with our Borders "Mindfulness Ambassador Program" is an interactive, experiential program which explains what mindfulness looks like, why it matters, and how to build a mindfulness practice. When we are mindful, we deliberately slow down to notice what is happening inside us (our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations), and what is happening outside us, in our environment. The skills learned in the Mindfulness Ambassador Program can assist with; coping with challenges, managing stress & anxiety, coping with sadness, communication more effectively with others. Mindfulness is an important tool in the self care of cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones.

The body is built to move, the right kind of movement builds strength, flexibility and aids the circulation of oxygen rich blood throughout the body and assists the lymphatic system. A Yoga for Cancer class is a gentle, but challenging class to help maintain and/or build strength, flexibility and range of motion. The focus is on the Cancer patient; before, during and after the cancer process. A cancer diagnosis affects not only the patient but anyone close to them. This class is designed to challenge, motivate and empower all those who attend.

Vicky is Queen’s University, the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, and Toronto’s renowned Institute of Traditional Medicine. A forever student, she is currently studying Contemplative End-of-Life Care at the Institute and hopes to soon offer end-of-life care services in the North. She interned with Kaleb Montgomery (Founder of Fertility Toronto) at the Toronto Institute for Reproductive Medicine (ReproMed) and spent three years doing clinical work at the Toronto People with Aids Foundation (PWA). She is grateful to have studied with international leaders in the fields of Chinese Medicine and Nutrition, such as Paul Pitchford (Healing with Whole Foods), Lorie Dechar (Alchemical Acupuncture for Spiritual Healing), and Lillian Bridges (Chinese Face Reading), to name but a few. Her recent return to the North was motivated primarily by a deep and unshakeable desire to live, work, and raise her babies in a natural setting—in a place where there are more trees than skyscrapers and where the stars are visible at night, every night. As a practitioner, Vicki has a special interest in treating anxiety and depression, insomnia and other sleep disorders, fertility, pregnancy and post-partum issues, hormonal and menstrual imbalances, allergies and asthma, digestive troubles, as well as the side effects of chemotherapy. Her heart-centred approach is rooted in the rhythm of the seaons. It is integrative, respectful, and honours each client’s individual journey. Young Adult Cancer Canada Join Marley Cameron Thyroid Cancer Survivor - Speaker & Representative/Member Peer Support. An organization wholly focused on providing customized support programs to help young adults deal with their cancer experience. Young Adult Cancer Canada is a national caner organization providing resources for young adults looking for inspiration, information and support. Life is different in your teens, 20s and 330s: it just makes sense it’d different with cancer, too. Young adults with cancer need and deserve an organization wholly focused on providing customised support programs to help them deal with their cancer experience. Given there was not on organization in Canada with this its focus the vision was obvious, Young Adult Cancer Canada had to be the national cancer organization providing resources for young adults looking for inspiration, information and support. Speak with young adult cancer survivors and learn more about the challenges they face and how Young Adult Cancer Canada has changed their recovery process and over all well being.

Lymphatic Therapy Options available in North Bay and information from the Lymphedema Association of Ontario Promoting education and awareness of Lymphedema. This year Ramona is introducing an aquatics option for Lymphedema Patients. Aqua Lymphatic therapy can same patients’ money as you are learning a treatment you can do on your own. ALT has been proven to help maintain and improve results of hands on treatment.

The purpose of the group is to offer a place for patients, their families, caregivers and friends to meet and exchange experiences and information with others in the area who are touched by Multiple Myeloma. The environment is one of mutual support and encouragement, assisting patients in living stronger and better.
